Battersea Power Station Roof

Maylim Complete Phase One of Battersea Power Station Redevelopment

Maylim were appointed to carry out both the hard and soft landscaping works to the public realms and open spaces for the first phase of Battersea Power Station. 

Our remit included all works on the podium slab level, void former, insulation, drain matt and linear drainage, ducting, concrete, timber cladding and fencing, balustrades, man hole covers and F&B pop ups and bespoke handrails. We have also completed all paving elements using granite, Yorkstone and terrazzo, as well as cladding and steps.

Circus West, which runs along the promenade of the River Thames, is now open to the public and developments new residents are moving into their new homes.

Rathbone Square 3

Rathbone Square is Now Complete for Great Portland Estates

As one of the first public squares to be created in London for over 100 years, Rathbone Square is a breathtaking scheme in the heart of the West End.

Working for our client Great Portland Estates, Maylim’s remit included all of the hard landscaping and externals. Rathbone Square is encompassed by luxurious residential apartments and ground level commercial property, as well as Facebook’s new headquarters. The externals follow this high end specification, with quality materials procured to ensure the best finish was achieved.

The scheme features an open lawn, a stunning bespoke curved bench that stretches across greenery, water features, native planting and paved areas.

10 Fenchurch Avenue

10 Fenchurch Avenue Externals Awarded by Sir Robert McAlpine

10 Fenchurch Avenue is a new 15 storey office development designed by Eric Parry Architects.

Located close to Fenchurch Street Station, a busy area in the City of London. The building will provide commercial office space as well as retail space within the lower floors.

The building is designed to be minimal and contemporary with sharp lineaments. Maylim’s work on the externals will mirror this design with clean cut hard landscaping and quality craftsmanship and materials maintained across the project.

Maylim will commence works on 10 Fenchurch Avenue in early October.

Islington Square

Maylim Win Islington Square Project

The 4.5 acre plot sits behind Islington’s Upper Street at the site of the former North London Royal Mail sorting office.

The mixed-use development offers over 250 residential units as well as retail and leisure facilities.

Working for Principle Contractor Galliard Construction, Maylim’s remit will include the hard and soft landscaping. Areas will include the private roof terraces, as well as the communal gardens and spaces.

Coal Drops Yard CGI

Work Begins for Maylim at Coal Drops Yards, Kings Cross

Following Maylim’s success at numerous projects at the Kings Cross Redevelopment scheme, we are set to begin work at Coal Drops Yard.

The historic Victorian buildings and arches, formally used in the coal mining trade, are currently being restored and renovated. The viaducts will soon be home to a new shopping district. There will also be a music venue and further cultural and creative spaces.

Maylim will begin work on this project in September and we are due to complete in Summer 2018.

White City Place - Central Boulevard

White City Place Complete as Part of Wider Regeneration Scheme

Maylim have now completed the externals and landscaping for White City Place, part of Stanhope’s redevelopment scheme for White City, London.

Maylim have completed the externals and landscaping for White City Place. The vast new public realm surrounds the refurbished and newly constructed buildings, providing ample space for the community to enjoy.

The Central Boulevard sits between the Mediaworks and Westworks and is a busy plaza circled with retail units. Maylim have installed high quality paving, raised gardens and numerous seating areas.

Maylim have also completed The Central Courtyard. This idyllic space is hidden in the heart of the Westworks building and will provide a tranquil space for residents of the newly renovated offices to utilise.

Work continues for Maylim at the Television Centre as part of Stanhope’s redevelopment scheme for White City, working for main contractor Lend Lease.

Barts Square

Carillion Award Maylim Barts Square Externals in the Heart of the Capital

We are pleased to have been awarded the externals on the redevelopment of Barts Square, in the historic heart of London.

Once complete the the 3.2 acre rebranding and redevelopment of Barts Square will create hundreds of new apartments. As well as this, it will offer a vast amount of office space and retail opportunities. Close to the iconic Smithfield Market and Barbican Station, the design complements its surroundings in this historic quarter of London.

Maylim’s remit includes the construction of the private gardens and courtyards for the stylish new residential apartments. The finished spaces will combine both hard and soft landscaping. Providing the perfect place for residents to relax and enjoy their surroundings.

St Helen's Square

British Land Award £3.3m St Helen’s Project to Maylim

Situated in the heart of the City, St Helen’s Square will serve as a multi-functional yet aesthetically pleasing public space.

Maylim are excited to commence work on this prestigious project at St Helen’s as principle contractor. Once complete the square will serve as London’s third largest open space, accommodating a variety of activities and exhibitions.

Maylim’s remit includes both hard and soft landscaping and design and build. There will also be a complex lighting scheme which will include projection lighting across the square. The project is set to be logistically challenging. Areas of the existing 1960s structure will need to be retained and worked around.

The design by Gillespies is an ode to contemporary design but also a nod towards traditional London, retaining character and charm.

International Quarter

The International Quarter Project Awarded by Lend Lease

This month sees Maylim begin work on phase one of The International Quarter London (TIQ) project, in Stratford.

The Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park has gone from strength to strength since the London held the games in 2012. Redevelopment in the area has seen a rapid increase and The International Quarter is set to create London’s newest business home and neighbourhood.

Maylim will be completing the externals for the residential areas of this large-scale development. The hard landscaping includes the use of top quality Indian sandstone. The paving has an unusual and complex design which fits with the modern architecture of the surrounding buildings.

The busy atmosphere is tranquilised by bespoke water features. Various elements of soft landscaping will see many green spaces developed across the quarter. This falls in line with the promise of a greener and more environmentally friendly surrounding for Londoners.

BBC Television Centre

Maylim Win Iconic BBC Television Centre Redevelopment Project for Stanhope

Working alongside Mace for Stanhope, we are looking forward to being part of this prestigious project. Furthering our involvement in the transformation and regeneration of White City.

The redevelopment of the iconic building has been highly anticipated since its closure in 2013. The BBC Television Centre building will now house both commercial and residential property and the external areas will be open to the public for the first time.

Maylim’s work is due to commence at the end of April. Working for main contractor Lend Lease, our remit primarily involves the hard landscaping of the external space. The plans include the creation of large terraced areas, as well as the installation of street furniture and bespoke seating.

The new design preserves the Television Centre’s much loved and well known features. Spacious forecourts and landscaped spaces surround the building which will also include various pre-cast elements. Newly paved pathways and step terraces will lead through to the refurbished Helios plaza.

Paddington Central - Phase 2

Maylim Complete Paddington Phase 2 for British Land

Maylim’s work on the Paddington Central project is now complete. The redevelopment includes a games area, a woodland garden and further communal space.

Maylim completed the first phase of the Paddington Central project in 2015. Following the success of phase one, British Land awarded Maylim the external works for the second phase. We received practical completion at the end of February this year.

In line with the arrival of crossrail, the public space surrounding the station has been part of a huge redevelopment scheme.

Maylim’s remit included re-paving Kingdom Street and its surrounding space. We also created a woodland garden, a games room and spacious seating areas. These facilities are now ready to be enjoyed by the new residents of the commercial buildings. The new space will also benefit those attending one of the interesting and diverse events that take place in this new hub of Paddington Central.

Maylim Win 66 Chiltern Street Project for Mace

With our work due to commence in April 2017 we are looking forward to getting started on the externals and hard landscaping for this luxury new build development.

Maylim’s involvement in the eagerly anticipated 66 Chiltern Street project includes the modification of the surrounding public realm. We will be creating spacious terrace areas and implementing high quality paving. Soft landscaping includes mixed flora in raised planters as well as an environmentally conscious green wall. Due to the central location of the project, in the heart of the city our remit also includes section 278 works.
