Maylim embarks on a flight down the Thames to Kingston

Maylim have successfully been awarded the intriguing and imaginative build of an art feature at the college roundabout in central Kingston upon Thames. The design is to be based upon a cyclone of paper aeroplanes spanning out throughout 3 key streets within the heart of Kingston. The project sees the fruition of the architects successful design application following a competition held by Royal Borough of Kingston to design, develop and ultimately construct an original piece of work unique to the locality by members of the local universities student body. The project duration is anticipated to be in the region of 4 weeks with a total value of £70k.

Maylim’s successful bid centred upon our enthusiastic approach to an innovative and artistic concept and enabling the realisation of such an idea through shop drawings and the completion of full scale samples and systems of mounting & securing the “paper planes”.

Fundamental to the project is a safe system of work based upon an approved traffic management system development in house with Maylim’s experienced planning team. This is essential due to the sites location within a busy city centre round about at the junction of a number of key arteries for the cities vehicular traffic. Finally the project see’s the initiation of what Maylim hopes will be the beginning of a bright future with a new client in London Borough of Kingston.
