- The A40 Argyle Road junction was a combined project with Transport for London, Mouchel Parkmans, London Borough of Ealing, McNicholas Plc and Maylim Ltd. The scheme involved the complete realignment of the west and east junctions approach off the A40 and local B roads. The original tendered programme of 23 weeks was reduced by our team to 9 weeks taking in full weekend and night closures to carry the work out in a more aggressive style to ensure that the disturbance to local traffic flows was minimised.
- Working in phased sequences with almost 4 areas opened at once, involved a fully retimed traffic signal layout when the works were carried out. This close co-ordination with the traffic engineers ensured peak hours and off peak hours working was programmed to enable work to run against traffic flows.

- Maylim Ltd’s work included the full civils, drainage and highway/footway reconstruction works including the repaving of all approaches and the installation of all infrastructures for the construction of nine new traffic signal junctions. There were over 50 road crossings that were programmed in line with night closures and weekend closures with 3 shifts of gangs working in each 24 hour duration to ensure the maximum outputs were achieved.
- As part of the works the project also included the full reconstruction of the carriageway above the A40 structure that included two 56 hour weekend half closures to completely strip the carriageway and footways above the bridge structure, full waterproofing by Stirling Lloyd and then the reconstruction of the roads/footways to enable the traffic full access to the areas by the Monday morning rush hour.
- The works were then completed with the installation of a new lighting scheme and associated street furniture and guard railings.
