- Description: Canada Water sited in close proximity of the Canary Wharf has seen huge development over the last few years with increased residential development as part of the British Land’s regeneration project of the whole Canada Water Area. As part of the regeneration project, The London Borough of Southwark aligned with British Land are in the final stages of the construction of a new library which will form the focal point of the area, embraced in a new public Plaza Space which will be enhanced by public cafes, market areas and seating areas sited alongside the Canada Water basin
Maylim Limited, as main contractor has just started Phase 2 of the construction of the public space and plaza with programme for completion due in autumn of 2011 for January 2011.Maylim Limited’s works include the full reconstruction of the plaza areas, placement of all sub strata formation with it completed, in advance of the granite paving, with a reinforced concrete slab. As part of the Plaza works design, and again with our specialist Paving Partner Miller Druck, our works included the installation of banded granite paving in a feature direction line to incorporate the future plaza features including bespoke lighting, benches, soft landscaping and associated street furniture all designed by the landscape Architect Edco.
Our works to phase 1 will be completed with the installation of numerous cycle stands, new street furniture all incorporating the future plaza design that will embrace the New Public Library and a large lighting package incorporating the numerous tress to the north of the
Plaza.
