Maylim Limited has been awarded the £705,000 project for the Regeneration of Douglas Way, Deptford. The Project, where Maylim Ltd will act as Main Contractor, is due to start on the 17th January 2011 with a completion programme of 12 weeks. The project is Maylim Ltd’s first project for the London Borough of Lewisham, with BDP as the main Landscape Architect for the project.
Maylim’s work included the close co-ordination and development of the design with the Landscape Architect BDP & Lewisham during the procurement period, to ensure the ultimate quality of materials was chosen whilst ensuring tight reigns on the acquired budget.
The works will involve the complete reconstruction of the area of Douglas Way, adjacent to Lewisham High Street incorporating the main market trading area of Deptford. The reconstruction of the area will include a new Concrete slab to form the sub base of the granite paving with the area completed with a mixed beige/Pink/Silver Grey granite finish and associated areas of Tarmac. The works also include all ducting and drainage to incorporate the bespoke lighting scheme from Urbis with the public realm completed with, the planting of new trees and planting of soft landscaping areas. The square is then finished off with new seating areas in granite and all the associated street furniture such as new bollards, gates and bins to the areas
The works will involve close logistics and co-ordinating of the local live market traders and to date has seen us working closely with the clients team on presentations and workshops to ensure the sequence of the works is known to all third parties.
