Located in the former Olympic village, plot No.8 has created 482 new homes in the heart of The Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
Overview
Maylim was delighted to be welcomed on-board as the external works contractor for this innovative project - the UK’s first rising factory. Spanning across 5550m², our remit included the four rooftop gardens and the landscape surrounding the brand-new residential buildings.
We used a self-erecting tower crane to lift over 600m³ of topsoil up to the roof gardens. Each one unique in design, the rooftop spaces feature raised planters formed with galvanised edgings, brick paved walkways and paths, composite decking and one housing a large bespoke timber pergola. The soft landscaping package included mature trees, box-hedging, herbaceous plants and luscious green lawns.
At ground-level we installed Crowell Yorkstone paving edged with Portuguese granite borders, finished with vertical wall cladding. We re-installed existing granite walls and completed the supply and install of new street lighting and soft landscaping elements.
