Matchmakers Wharf

Matchmakers Wharf in East London is a unique and creative development by Telford Homes.

Overview

Maylim were awarded the hard and soft landscaping contract, our approach was to combine several elements of both resulting in a modern bohemian public space that embodied the positive spirit of the area following London’s successful Olympic bid.

Our input on the project was diverse and included the installation of the podium deck area and Marshalls La Linia paving was laid in a herringbone pattern with contrasting bands finished with Eco setts edging. Coloured resin bound surfacing and Alu-excel edging was implemented to differentiate the mixed surfaces and the construction of a playground was completed using specialist surfacing to improve safety levels.

Additional elements included cladding of the canal wall in timber, base course surfacing at the entrance to the site and the installation of bollards and cycle stands for resident’s security and use.

These riverside apartments combine a tranquil scenic surrounding with bustling city life, so it was vital that the externals and landscaping also reflected this.
