More London

More London is a hugely popular public realm that sits on London’s south bank, between London Bridge and Tower Bridge, consisting of impressively landscaped streets, piazzas and communal spaces.

Overview

Our brief was to create a unique area with a distinct character and London charm that could evolve with an ever-changing city. The modern design combines high-end and sustainable materials, giving More London a real sense of place and helping it to attract many visitors all year round.

Broken down into four strategic phases spanning 10 years, we successfully tendered for Phase 1 and then negotiated the other phases on the back of our initial success.

Our remit was diverse and included ducting, and concrete for tiered seating leading down to architecturally breath-taking Scoop amphitheatre. Reinforced concrete structure work was constructed for the unique water features and secure foundations for several sculptures, which we also positioned and installed. To soften the hard landscaping we also planted a series of tree boxes across the public realm.

More London is now firmly on the map as a vibrant destination for Londoners, tourists and businesses, boasting an outdoor gallery space and theatre venue. It has fuelled public confidence in the local area and inspired further regeneration at Potters Fields Park.
