- Potters Fields Park lies on the southern side of the Thames between Tower Bridge and City Hall. It is one of the few remaining green open spaces along the riverside. This prestigious park, situated in the heart a very busy tourist area of London, saw Maylim Ltd working alongside McNicholas Plc. The major refurbishment of the park, which was completed in 2007, has transformed it into a world class facility for the enjoyment of local businesses and workers, residents, tourists and other visitors to the locality. Designed by landscape architects Gross Max as a place for public events and private contemplation it is a park that reflects upon its own distinctive local history providing a safe, clean and restful space within the bustle of the city.
- The main features of the park are a granite terraced border alongside the Queen’s Walk that provides sweeping views across and along the Thames, lawns that roll back from the riverside walk and provide plenty of open space for private relaxation or as an area suitable for hosting a range of events and activities, colourful herbaceous gardens created by world famous plants man, Piet Oudolf, all completed by the Blossom Square, a seated area of blossom trees.

- As part of Maylim Ltd’s package we completed the full site clearance of the area with the removal of existing concrete slabs, lawns, ironwork gates and fencing. We installed deep drainage and irrigation systems to the lawns, footways and shrub beds in addition to the full civils works to new footways, boundary walls, cafe buildings and the full concrete works to the new granite terraced border along the Queen’s Walk footway.
- Our works extended to the preparation of all reinforced lawn areas before the soft landscapers placed the topsoil and prepared turf.
- We are proud to be part of this great team that received a Bali Award in 2008 for this project.
