Rathbone Square

Rathbone Square was awarded to Maylim by Great Portland Estates and principally contracted through Lendlease.

Overview

All eyes are on Rathbone Square as the first courtyard built in the area for over 100 years. With its modern design and high levels of technology, it certainly doesn’t disappoint!

The project consists of two phases – phase one being residential and phase two a public courtyard area. Seven large planters have been installed, three containing a water channel and weir. As well as this, there are two stunning water features and a bespoke drainage system crafted from stainless steel to ensure a contemporary and seamless finish is maintained throughout.

Quality and high-end materials were sourced from across the globe. The hard landscaping elements include Azul Granite paving procured from Spain. The planters and water features are clad in honed Picasso Granite, acquired from Canada. Street furniture includes cycle stands, benches and tree grilles.

Various large mature trees, shrubs, ferns and vibrant flowers create the soft landscaping scheme. The large turfed area for residents and visitors to enjoy the space in the middle of London’s busy West End.
