- Working in conjunction with McNicholas Plc and The Borough of Reigate and Banstead, Maylim Ltd completed this whole public realm and regeneration project in 2005 to the two main Streets of The Redhill Shopping district. A 6 month programme saw the full reconstruction of a combined carriageway and footways while maintaining uninterrupted access local business and amenities.
- The construction was carried out in sequence, working in many areas at once whether in large central areas or small fenced off pen areas outside shops and local business doorways. The full construction, including working around existing utilities, ensured that close co-ordination with premises owners was effectively on a daily basis by the site management team and a close relationship and bond was always the main requirement to be created and was the major success of this project.
- The project consisted of over 4000sqm of granite paving laid on a concrete sub base and Steintec bedding finished with a 5mm Steintec joint. Maylim Ltd’s masons had to ensure that all paving lines and levels matched up even when some areas of paving were as little as 4sqm in area and only metres apart.

- Maylim Ltd’s scope included the full excavation of all the areas, installation of associated ducting and underground drainage and the close installation of the Aco Brickslot drain to line up with the granite paving patterns.
- Our work also extended to the full civils and paving works to the central brick paved square, accommodating the central bench seating areas and associated street furniture.
- The works were completed with the civils and installation of 2500sqm of surest landscaped areas with over 20 bespoke stainless steel tree planters complemented by a state of the art lighting scheme, fixed to the local premises and double curved lighting columns by Urbis.
