The Timberyard Deptford
Located at the heart of the Deptford Landings, The Timberyard is the first of six new residential developments.
Overview
The Timberyard comprises a collection of contemporary new homes. Each property is designed to access the surrounding green spaces.
Working for client Lendlease, Maylim was contracted to complete the landscaping and external works package at both ground level and the level one roof garden.
The development has been built around a new linear park. Spanning the length of the buildings, our team installed The Waterline, a 50m-long architectural pre-cast concrete water feature designed to replicate the movement of the former Grand Surrey Canal. Timber footbridges cross the rill channel and provide access to the grassy banks of the water stream.
Also, at ground level, our team completed the installation of railings to the townhouses, pre-cast concrete footpaths, resin-bound gravel pathways, complete road construction works, and the soft landscaping scheme.
The vision for this project was for all residents to have access to a private outdoor space or shared green areas. At level one, private courtyard gardens lead to a large communal roof garden. Timber fencing has been installed around the perimeters, with planters and benches in breakout areas. A lush mounded lawn with various children’s play equipment is central to the podium.
