- As part of the Refurbishment Project by Lend Lease to The Treasury, near Westminister, McNicholas were awarded the contract to carry out a 9 week reconstruction programme of the central courtyard to this iconic London building. Working to strict timescales due to security ensured this was always going to a challenging project.
- Maylim Ltd set about the challenge working in sequence with the other finishing trade contractors to complete the refurbishment of the courtyard back to its natural beauty with some fantastic sett and Yorkstone laying.
- Our works consisted of the complete full construction down to the roof slab of the sub formation and the installation of both surface and underground drainage, in lieu of the 250mm reinforced concrete slab all laid to falls to match that of the finishing pavement of the final granite setts and yorskstone paving. This was all carried out in a fashion that ensured full emergency access to 10 Downing Street and the Treasury itself.

- The sett laying by our pavers ensured that each row of setts was laid precisely to establish the circular design of the courtyard based on a central point with each row increasing as the radius got larger, but still maintaining the full joint lines. In addition, the external yorkstone was ordered to allow the paving to be laid to a feathered design to focus back to the central point of the yard. This challenge was completed to an exceptional quality and with days to spare.
