Maylim Wins Principal Award at BALI Awards 2025 for Finsbury Circus Gardens.

On Friday 5th December 2025, Maylim proudly accepted the Principal Award at the prestigious BALI Awards, hosted at Grosvenor. The Maylim BALI Award 2025 recognised our work on the regeneration of Finsbury Circus Gardens in the Regeneration Scheme – Over £500K category.

This achievement reflects our commitment to excellence in landscape construction and the dedication of our incredible team. We extend our thanks to our client, the City of London Corporation, our valued suppliers and Maylim Project Manager Tom Emerton for their collaboration and support throughout the project. The Maylim BALI Award 2025 is a significant milestone in our journey.

Reviving Heritage in the Heart of the City

Finsbury Circus Gardens had been intensively used as a Crossrail site for over a decade. The challenge was to restore this historic space and re‑establish it as a vibrant sanctuary for Londoners and visitors alike. Winning the Maylim BALI Award 2025 underscores our success in achieving this goal.

Our regeneration of the largest open space in the Square Mile, blended heritage with sustainability, biodiversity and modern infrastructure. The result is a beautifully restored green retreat that honours the park’s history and meets the needs of the future.

Project Highlights

• Landscape Restoration: Cohesive paving and durable finishes unify the space.
• Seating & Accessibility: Timber and stone seating frame the lawns beneath mature London Plane trees.
• Biodiversity: 12 new species and over 13,000 plants enrich the gardens with texture and vitality.
• Sustainable Infrastructure: A new irrigation system, integrated standpipes, and updated drainage ensure resilience and long‑term lawn health.
• Enhanced Facilities: The rebuilt Park Office, refined entrance walls and redesigned service yard strengthen functionality and welcome.

The judges described the scheme as “a hugely impressive public realm project, executed to the highest standards,” delivering a beautifully restored green retreat for Londoners and visitors alike.
