Recognised with a 2026 National BALI Landscape Award, the project showcases the highest standards of landscape construction and public realm delivery.

Oxford North is a landmark innovation district that is reshaping the northern edge of Oxford, creating a vibrant destination where science, technology, education and community life come together. Spanning 64 acres, the development combines world-class workspace, new homes and extensive public realm, establishing a sustainable environment designed to support collaboration, discovery and long-term growth.

Working alongside client Oxford North and Principal Contractor Mace, Maylim has been responsible for delivering the landscape and public realm package from RIBA Stage 4 onwards. The project encompasses landscape, civil, structural and M&E elements, requiring the seamless integration of multiple disciplines to create a cohesive and highly functional environment.

At the heart of the development is a series of carefully crafted public spaces designed by Gustafson Porter + Bowman. These include naturalistic planting, mature tree avenues, water features, public gathering spaces, pedestrian routes and extensive green infrastructure that connect people with nature while encouraging movement, wellbeing and social interaction. Significant enabling works, including earthworks, drainage infrastructure, ponds and linear landscape elements, have laid the foundations for a public realm of exceptional quality and longevity.

Oxford North demonstrates Maylim’s expertise in delivering complex, design-led landscape projects at scale. The scheme includes bespoke structures, cycle facilities, bridges and extensive landscape construction, all delivered with a focus on quality, technical excellence and attention to detail. Through close collaboration with the wider project team, Maylim has helped create a destination that sets a new benchmark for innovation-led placemaking in the UK.

The project’s success has been recognised nationally, receiving a 2026 National BALI Landscape Award in the Regeneration Scheme Over £500k category, highlighting the quality of the design, delivery and collaborative approach that have shaped this transformative development.
