Playground Updates for Westminster Academy
One of the great joys of place-making in the capital is being able to interact and get to know the local communities surrounding each of our individual projects.
In line with our works at Hanover Square for client Great Portland Estates, we were introduced to local school Westminster Academy by Principal Contractor Mace. After speaking with the school, we were delighted to have the opportunity to volunteer our services and expertise to help update a section of the playground.
Eleanor Cole, a teacher at the Academy, shares more information about the collaboration:
“Westminster Academy was fortunate enough to be put in touch with Maylim through Mace. Right from the start, Maylim was enthusiastic and pro-active about the project, willingly giving up their time to suggest ideas and visions of how to enhance the playground area for the students.
The final plan was to procure ivy filled planters to install along the fence of the Academy playground. The aim of these was to provide some privacy and pollution mitigation from the local road networks.
Maylim then suggested a time to install the planters, and worked diligently to produce an excellent finish, resulting in a fantastic addition to the school external environment. Students and staff are thrilled with the new ivy screens. We would like to thank Eric McGeough from Maylim and Patrick Smith from Mace for making this project a success.“
