100 Bishopsgate

Located in the heart of the City of London, 100 Bishopsgate is a 2-acre site comprising a 40-storey tower and a 7-storey podium.

Overview

Working for client Brookfield Multiplex, Maylim was contracted to complete the 3000m2 landscaping and external works package at both ground level and the level 7 roof terrace.

Design development included synchronising the design for the planters and suspended timber decking on the roof terrace. The key focus was to ensure that the design complied with the future plant removal strategy. Our team was also involved in the design coordination of the ground-level green wall and HVM security strategy.

Our remit included the supply and installation of the suspended timber decking on the terrace. The decking is bound by an aluminium-decking trim and surrounded by large powder-coated planters and lawn trays. The soft landscaping scheme features specially grown hornbeams, box hedging, herbaceous plants, and lawns.

At ground level, we completed the supply and installation of the waterproofing system, including the coordination of all interface details. The HVM strategy consisted of over 60 PAS:68 bollards surrounding the perimeter of the building. We also supplied and installed over 500m of slot drain. This was carefully coordinated to align with the overall paving scheme of 2500m2 of pennant Yorkstone and 300m2 of black Chinese granite. Lastly, we supplied and installed approximately 200m2 of the vertical green wall with a further 12 hornbeams that form part of the overall wind mitigation strategy.

After completing this scheme in August 2019, our project team commenced work on the external works package for neighbouring skyscraper 150 Bishopsgate.
