Imperial College West is a new innovative and integrated campus located at the centre of the major White City regeneration masterplan.
Overview
We were awarded the external works package for the area surrounding one of the campus’ new flagship buildings. The Michael Uren Biomedical Engineering Research Hub makes up just part of this ongoing 23-acre development masterplan.
The 4000m2 external space surrounding the Uren Building features vast paved walkways, water features, mature trees, large planters and street furniture. Design development for Maylim comprised of the full design and build of all hard landscaping and structures, as well civil engineering works.
Our project team’s remit included; the supply and install of both Chinese granite and precast block paving, precast water features, recessed manhole covers, balustrades and brickwork. We also installed a surface water drainage system and ducting infrastructure. The surface water drainage comprises of 30 linear metres of timer frame heading for the foul drainage upgrade. We excavated the area and installed a 4-metre steel piled cofferdam to the perimeters of the temporary works, ready to install the petrol interceptor tank.
