Maylim Lend a Hand at The Culpeper Community Garden
Maylim was delighted to offer our expertise to the Culpeper Community Garden in Islington. Volunteers from our Islington Square scheme (for client Galliard Homes) utilised unused materials to make improvements.
Founded in 1982, The Culpeper Community Garden was formally a derelict site. The space is now a flourishing public garden. The garden provides supported activities and group sessions in partnership with local voluntary organisations and statutory bodies. This includes people experiencing ill mental health, learning disabilities, and those who may be socially isolated, homeless, deprived, or with refugee status.
Mandy Graham, Head Gardener at the Culpeper, said: “Staff, Trustees and members here at Culpeper Community Garden would like to say a huge ‘Thank you’ to all the fabulous Maylim staff for their hard work. You have transformed our two raised bed surrounds with beautiful paving and rebuilt our compost bins – all in a day! We are delighted that we now have a flat paved area for our Elfrida plot. This means our disabled volunteers can access the raised beds safely.”
Supporting community projects such as Culpeper is essential to us as a company. They provide improved well-being and mental health, invaluable support, and encourage others to support horticulture. We look forward to continuing our relationship with Culpeper in the future.
