Maylim joined 185 exhibitors at FutureScape‘s new venue, ExCeL London, over the two day event last week. Maylim utilised the expo and trade event to promote our services and engage with clients and suppliers. It also provided an opportunity for many colleagues to experience the expo for the first time.

Business Development Director, Alistair Bayford, commented: “It was fantastic to see so many exhibitors and visitors attending FutureScape after so long out. Being a first-time exhibitor meant that we had no previous experience to gauge success. However, we found that we engaged in many positive discussions over the two days and it was good to meet so many familiar and new faces from the industry in person“.

Tuesday

Managing Director, Thomas O’Mahony, joined the opening seminar in the Pro Landscaper Theatre. Together with Jim Wilkinson, Adrian Wickham, Jane Findlay and John Melmoe they discussed the ‘Future of Our Landscapes Beyond 2021’. There was a real sense of purpose about moving on from the pandemic and Brexit, with the industry playing a key role in the green recovery.

Later that day Phil Daly, Kevin Mahony and Florin Chiric receive their well-deserved Pro Landscaper 30 Under 30 awards. Speaking of the success and awards Thomas O’Mahony said: “At Maylim the development of our people is central to our success so we are extremely proud of the achievements of Phil, Florin and Kevin. We are delighted that Pro Landscaper have recognised the contribution they have made to the landscaping industry”.

Alistair joined the Pro Landscaper Summit panel with Jim Wilkinson, Dr Marcus Watson, Helen Elks-Smith, Mark Gregory, Carolin Gohler and Lynne Marcus. After an insightful introduction by Dr Marcus Watson, the panel discussed the post COP26 landscape and the role the industry must play in tackling climate change and reducing carbon emissions.

Wednesday

As Wednesday arrived, the Maylim team were present in numbers to hear the outcome of the Pro Landscaper Podium Awards. As first time entrants we were delighted when One Crown Place was announced as the winner in the Residential category. At the end of the ceremony it was also awarded the ultimate prize of Supreme Winner.

After the Summit on Tuesday, Alistair continued the discussion on Climate Change during the ‘Future of Sustainable Landscapes’ seminar in the Inspire Theatre. The panel, including Ben West, Jilayne Rickards, Joel Ashton and Mark Keir, discussed how the sector will meet the challenges and demands of the future.

We look forward to returning to FutureScape in 2022.
