Maylim Team Breaks Ground at Thames Tideway Victoria Embankment
Maylim has recently commenced work at Victoria Embankment Foreshore. The project is part of Maylim’s work across three of the Thames Tideway super sewer sites. Tideway is upgrading London’s sewer system, creating a super sewer to cope with the capital’s growing population. The 25km tunnel will work to intercept, store and transfer sewage waste away from the River Thames.
The Victoria Embankment Foreshore is one of the most publicly visible sites across the Tideway network. The scheme is located in the heart of London; adjacent to Golden Jubilee Bridges and opposite the iconic London Eye.
Contracted by FLO (Ferrovial/Laing O’Rourke JV), Maylim’s remit for the landscape scheme includes; the installation of granite cladding and paving, soft landscaping, drainage, landscape lighting and bespoke timber street furniture.
Tideway has commissioned artist Richard Wentworth CBE to create an artwork for the new public realm site at Victoria Embankment. As part of the external works package Maylim will be assisting with the co-ordination and installation of the bronze artwork pergola, as well as complementing bronze features which feature throughout the landscape scheme.
