Crystal Palace Park Regeneration Reaches Completion
Maylim is proud to announce the successful completion of the major capital works programme at Crystal Palace Park, delivered on behalf of the London Borough of Bromley and in partnership with the Crystal Palace Park Trust. The milestone marks a significant achievement in the long-term regeneration of one of London’s most treasured historic landscapes.
Working alongside lead consultant and landscape architect HTA Design and a multidisciplinary team of heritage and engineering specialists, Maylim has helped restore and enhance key areas of the Grade II* listed park, creating a lasting legacy for future generations.
The completed works include:
- Conservation and restoration of the Grade I listed Crystal Palace Dinosaurs and Geological Court
- Restoration of the historic Italian Terraces
- Creation of a new dinosaur-themed playground
- Delivery of upgraded accessible routes throughout the park
- Installation of sustainable drainage systems and landscape enhancements
- Reinstatement of Sir Joseph Paxton’s bust
- Construction of a new Visitor Centre celebrating the park’s rich heritage
A particularly significant achievement of the programme has been the successful conservation of the world-famous Crystal Palace Dinosaurs, resulting in their removal from Historic England’s Heritage at Risk Register.
The regeneration project not only safeguards nationally important heritage assets but also improves biodiversity, accessibility and visitor experience across the park, ensuring it remains a valued destination for communities and visitors alike.
