St Mary Magdalene Academy

Contracted by Mace the project was phased over numerous school terms to ensure the academy and students were undisrupted and remained open throughout the construction process. This made logistics complicated and we were challenged further by the minor access points to the site from small urban roads. Meticulous coordination was essential in order to problem-solve and keep to deadlines.

The main remit covered full civils, groundworks and drainage to the play areas, courtyards, entrances, highways, footways and carriageways on the Academy’s boundary. This work was later extended to include preparation works for granite entrance steps, all soft landscaping areas and laying safer surfacing by Sureset in all recreational areas.

All though a relatively small and short project all works were completed in line with the client’s practical completion dates. The outcome was a huge transformation of the externals, proving advantageous and functional to both students and teachers.
