Works Commence on Granary Square Pedestrianisation in KX

Granary Square pedestrianisation King's Cross

At the end of November, Granary Square in King’s Cross became fully pedestrianised. Our project team have since commenced works to remove the existing carriageway.

Granary Square is already an extremely popular space within the King’s Cross development, and the pedestrianisation will make it even more family-friendly. Once works are complete, the square will only be accessible by pedestrians and cyclists.

As the external works contractor, Maylim will complete the breaking out and removal of the existing paving and kerbs. Other works will include drainage alterations and installing a new drainage system. Drop-down bollards will be supplied and installed to restrict access between Stable Street and Granary Square.

The new paving scheme will tie in with the surrounding landscaping design and connect the square to the neighbouring Coal Drops Yard.
