The International Quarter (IQL)

Maylim has completed the first two phases of the project, which are now open to the public. Our remit included the design and installation of external works between plots S5 and S6 buildings. Key work details included all paving works, soft landscaping and irrigation, drainage, surfacing works and street furniture. Maylim were also contracted to supply and install technology, including CCTV and Wi-Fi.

Our team used rhomboid and rectangular paving across the scheme, made from Chinese granite and Indian sandstone. Bespoke stainless-steel train tracks were installed throughout the paved areas, making it the first time the material has been used in this capacity.

The public realm also features stainless steel tree grilles, a raised pedestrian crossing, automatic and static bollards, timber seating on top of pre-cast concrete decorative benches and lighting columns illuminating the space by night. Soft landscaping works included excavating and constructing tree pits, planting flower beds and trees, and installing a complex irrigation system.

Maylim will continue progressing with the scheme, with Phase 3 commencing in 2019. The International Quarter provides innovative commercial, leisure and residential space in a prime location, surrounded by a new and exciting public realm.
