Landscaping Works at Panorama St Paul’s, 81 Newgate Street Begins
This month, Maylim commences works at Panorama St Paul’s, the transformation of an outdated 1980s office building at 81 Newgate Street. Led by principal contractor Mace and designed by architect Kohn Pedersen Fox (KPF), this mixed-use development will revitalise the site into a sustainable, modern destination within London’s Culture Mile.
The project will offer flexible workspaces with external terraces, rooftop dining areas, a retail arcade, and a public wildflower meadow, all set against stunning views of St Paul’s Cathedral.
Maylim’s role includes installing 28 terraces from Level 2 to the rooftop, with balustrade planters, cladding, and over 820m² of paving. A key feature is the living walls on several levels, including a 20m-high installation on the south elevation.
At ground level, Maylim will lay over 1000m² of Scoutmoor Yorkstone paving. The landscape will also include planters and a climbing wire system for plants on the building’s façade. Working closely with renowned landscape architect Tom Stuart-Smith (TSS), the project aims to blend green spaces with modern architecture, creating a landmark for the area.
Once complete, Panorama St Paul’s will be one of the most energy-efficient and verdant buildings in the City of London, designed to attract workers, visitors, and the wider community.
